Puppy Survival Guide

Food we recommend:

We’ve been feeding these puppies Purina Pro Plan- large breed puppy food. Any type of meat is good for your puppy.

Potty Training:

It’s best to put your puppy outside as soon as they’re finished eating, or when they wake up.  Typically every 3-4 hours. Rewarding your puppy will help teach them.

Yard Care:

PLEASE make sure you do not take your puppy to any dog parks, or areas where a previous dog has been sick!! It is recommended that puppies do not go outside until they are fully vaccinated, unless the yard is clean.

  • If you feel like your yard is not safe, we recommend Performacide Disinfectant and Deodorizer to kill Parvo. You can also use a bleach solution. (½ cup of bleach per gallon of water) to spray in the yard, or small fenced in area.

Accessories we love:

  • Pet hair roller- great for removing dog hair on couches. (Chom Chom Roller-Amazon)
  • Kongs are great at keeping your puppy occupied.
  • Snuggle Puppy to help with anxiety when your puppy is in the crate. We recommend one that comes with a heat pack.
  • Adorable seasonal puppy/dog clothes
  • Puppy harnesses- great to use when leash training.

**If for any reason you cannot continue to keep your puppy, or feel like your puppy isn’t the right fit for you, please reach out to us before giving the puppy away and we will gladly take it in.**
